1800s
The next 65 years started a lifetime of change for America, a change thats on going today in America. The American Revolution was over, the father of America was dead. President George Washington died December 14, 1799. We enter the 19th century with Slavery well entrenched in America, and with the American Government. squarely on the side of the Slave owner. Infact President George Washington had sign the fugitive Slave act, in his second term. As i said the 1800s brought a lasting change to America. Well here we go.
The first Block Buster Change came in the 1800s was the Louisiana Purchase. The Louisiana Purchase Treaty April 30, 1803. The Louisiana Purchase was big it encompssed all or part of 15 states and two Canadian Provinces. And was also a vital moment in the Presidency of Thomas Jefferson . At the time alot of people were questiioning wheather his Presidency was Constitutional.
Jefferson decided to allow Slavery in the acquired Territory. Which laid the foundation for the crisis of the Union a half century later. Thomas Jefferson its kind of strange that he Thomas Jefferson should be such and important person in laying the ground work for ending Slavery. What a fitting triburte to Miss Sallly Henning.
Well we are just getting started with the 1800s we are on the road to ending Slavery in America. It took 65 years, but thing are Moving.
I give honor love and respect to the American Black Women.

The American Black Women.
Before i get into the 1800s. I want to speak on the American Black Women. If you have read at the bottom of my posting i always give honor and thanks to the American Black Women. America was Built on the Backs of the Black Slave Women. She was made to produce Slave Babies, And she was Raped by the white slave owners. She was made to nurse white babies. And the white slave owner found out that by having sex with the Black Slave Women he could produce his own Slaves The Black Slave Women was used to keep Slavery going in America. As you can see America was built on the back of the Black American Women.
I will always honor the American Black Women.
In my next posting i will get into the 1800s, a time of change.

The American Revolution and Slavery.
The year 1775 the year of our Lord. The Beganning of the end of Slavery in America.
Both the British and the Colonists Believed that Slaves could serve an important role during the revolution. In November 1775, Lord Dunmore the Royal Governor of Virginia promased Freedom to all Slaves who would join his Majestys Troops. Some 800 Slaves joined British Forces. As a result of the Revolution thousands of Slaves freeded themselfs. Georgia and South Carolina lost over 25000 Slaves. The Revolution Had a contradictory Consequences on Slavery, In the South Slavery became more entrenched, while in the North as a result of court decisions and gradual emancipation Slaves were freeded.
As you can see that Because of the American Revolution the crack in America was forned. From 1775- 1860 the crack grew wider and wider until America Broke wide open in 1860, under the weight of Slavery. A house cannot stand being half free and half Slave.
Well as you can see the American Revolution steped on the back of Slavery.
In my next posting we began the 1800, the winds of change are comming. the beganning of the times when America began to fight aganst itself, Afight i may add that gose on today.
All honor and respect to the American Black Women, For it is on her back that America is Built.

The Inception.
At the very inception of Slavery in America it was a growth in Human Bondage and Misery. That grew from 1502 until its conclusion in 1865. With a great many lifes lost in between. The Slave trade was like anyother trade, except this trade had benefits for the slave trader. The Slave trader could have sex with the Slave Women. No other trader could do that. A cattle trader would not want to do that, But a trader who traded in human bondage could have sex with his livestock. Infact the Slave trader learn to make his own Slaves, by having sex with the Slave Women.
Throughout my research on American Black History, you will find that I will continue to refer to the Black Slave Women. She was used abused, raped, and Murdered, throughtout American Black History. She Was the Tool that kept Slavery going The White Slaver needed the Black Slave Women, for breeding, and for his pleasure.
So you see America was Built on the Backs of the American Black Women.
In my next topic I will write on the beginning of the end of Slavery in America, The American Revolution.
Honor and thanks to the American Black Women.

Human Branding.
American slavers branded Millions of slaves. The slave owner branded slaves as if they were livestock. Branding was used both as punishment, and control. And example, a add was placed in the North Carolina Standard Newspaper, on July 28, 1838. $20.00 reward was offered for a female slave with two children. Tall with the letter m branded in her face. Branding started way back in Africa as a tool, before transporting slaves to the Americas. Runaway slaves could be branded with the letter R on there cheek.
It took alot of nerve for a slave to runaway. He are she faced very hard punishment. The male slave faced harder punishment, because the white slave owner needed the female slave for breeding.
As a 64yo black American man its tough to write my forefathers and mothers history. But for me and my black American brothers and sisters, i had to know where we came from.

Nathaniel Nat Turner.
Nat Turner.October, 2 1800-November 11, 1831, Mr Turner was and American Slave who led a Slave Rebellion in Virginia, on August 21, 1831. This resulted in 56 whites dying and over 55 Blacks Dying that day. The Largest number of fatalities to occur on American soil in one day Prior to the Civil War. Mr Turner was caught and Hanged. 200 Blacks were beaten and Kiled by white militias, and white mobs. But what Mr Turner did that hot August day in 1831 shook the foundation of Slavery in America. Yes alot of Blacks died because of what Mr Turner did that day. But alot of whites became afraid and freed their Slaves. In his own way Mr Turner changed the way alot of Slaves and Slave owners thought of Slavery. This was not the beganning of the end of Slavery, that honor fell to the American reveloution. Mr Turner just quicken the pace. There is alot more that I can say about Mr Turner And American Slave who took it own himself to free his people.

A myth.
One of the big myth about slavery is that slaves enjoyed being slaves. When I was in school and taking U.S history, the pictures I saw in my history book was of slaves laughing, singing and having fun. But what slave owners did not know this singing, and laughing were codes for how the slaves could escape slavery. Now I read that some states want to erase slavery from school books. What a tragedy that would be. Americans should never forget that slavery built America. A race that forgets its history is bound to repeat it.

Enslaved Workers.
The Lives of enslaved workers on George Washingtons outlying Farms. At the height of its development as a Plantation, Mount Vernon consisted of 8000 acres,Divided into 5 Separate Farms.
1. The mansion house farm with 500 acres. At the time of Washingtons death in 1799, Slaves made up 90% of the plantations population, with a bit more than 300 slaves and about 20 to 30 whites, living on 5 farms. 90 slaves resided at the mansion house farm. 2 The Dugue run farm. with 45 slaves on 650 acres. 3 The river farm containing 1207 acres with 57 slaves. 4 The muddy hole farm which had 476 acres and 41 slaves. 5 The union farm 976 acres with 76 slaves 40 of whom were rented from a neighbor. I want post the entire finding on George Washingtons enslaved workers. However I will encourage you to read this complete Research. George Washington was born into a world of slavery, infact for his 11 yo birthday he was given 11 slaves as a gift. And when he died he left a world of slavery. Our first President never knew any other world. There are much we need to know and learn about 8 U.S Presidents that own slaves.
I give honor and thanks to the American Black Women.

The Slave Owner.
The death rate among slaves were high, prolong breast feeding was inhibting reproduction. So the Slave owner encouraged slaves to have more children. Child bearing for female slaves started around 13yo, and by age 20 they had 4-5 children. Some slave owners promised slave women that if they had 15 children they could have there freedom. The mindset of one slave owner from virginia boast that his successful breeding policies enable him to sell 6000 slave children a year. Some slave owners fathered there own slave children. A slave women could never be true to her husband, she had no right to her own body. As we live in America today we can see where the disrespect, and the hatered of a group of people came from. It came from American Slavery. 1502-1865.

150 Year Anniversary.
Before get into the Mineset of the American Slave owners Let me take a moment and remember and important event that happern in the month of April. At 4.30 am on the morning of April 12, 1861 Fort Sumter which sits in the Charleston South Carolina harbor. Was fired upon by Confederate Forces. Thus starting the civil war and the beganning of the end to American Slavery. The union troops surrendered to confederated troops on April 15, 1861. The storm clouds of civil war had broken open in Charleston harbor. Plunging the Country into full-Scale-War. There was no turning back now. American Slavery 1502-1865, was at last comming to and end.

Buying and selling of Human Beings
You can see in todays America a carry over of the God like complex that a alot of Americans have concerning people of color. Our Problems started way back in the 1500 when the first Black Slaves were brought to North America. When you own a Human Being , Lord and master over that Human Being. The right to beat them, the right to sell them, the right to rape them, even kill them. What must that do to a person mind to be drunk with so much power. A word from you and any Slave girl or women had to lay down for you, families torn apart and solded. A Slave mother taken from her baby, and made to wet nurse the master wifes Baby. What power the Slave owner had over the Slave. Well we will go into the Slave owners mind in my next Posting.
Lets Honor the American Black Women, for her Fore mothers did pay the price for all of us,
Happy Easter Sunday to all.
Part 1 the Mindset of the Slave owner.

Fort Blount 1816.
Three Hundred Slaves held Fort Blount on Apalachicola Bay,Florida for Serveral days before being attacked by US Troops. Earlier Under the command of a Slave, by the name of Garson, and a Choctaw Indian Chief, name unknown. The negro inhabitants of the Fort launched raids into Georgia, this made the Fort a threat to Slavery in Georgia .Fort Blount had to be destroyed. Slaves were comming to the Fort from the Mississippi Territory, and from Tennessee. So the Fort was attacked by a professional US military Force under the command of General Andrew Jackson. British Soldiers from the war of 1812 lefted a well stocked Fort Blount to there Allies, Choctaw Indians and slaves. The Slaves and Indians put up a good fight for 3or4 days, but they were up against battle hard troops. The Fort was burn to the ground. The Leader Garson was caught and Hung. The Choctaw Indian was Scalped. Thruout my childhood school years, I always read in my History Books that Slaves were happy, always dancing and singing. We know now that slaves fought back, and would reather die in most cases than be a Slave.

Slave Rebellions.
One Historian calculated that over 200 separate slave revolts and conspiracies took place from the 1600s to the end of the US Civil War 1865. In addition to the major Rebellions, many slave took part in individual oppsition to their slave status. Before Florida was Annexed by the US many slaves ran away to Florida, and set up free communities.

American Slavery and Christianity Part 2.
A strange sight in the 1740s-1780s. 3000 people out in a field, Blacks and whites togeather. Slave owners and Slaves, listening to a preacher who says, here my message, a new life for you, heres a chance for you. Heres a god who has your interest at heart. Heres a god who may deliver you.
The great awakening swept through America during the 1740s.. Listening to preachers, who told of immediate salvation. The preachers did not challenge Slavery, but they preached to everyone, Slave owner and Slave. Initially the Slave owners resisted evangelist teaching christianity to their Slaves. But as the revival movement spread a few even considered it their christian duty to teach their Slaves to read the Bible. American slaves found the Bibical message of spirtual equality before god appealing and found confort in the Biblical deliverence Slave owners allowed black preachers to preach and spread the word to their Slaves. Black Womwn took the lead in the Black Church, and were the majority of the membership. These women became leaders and exercised ther right to preach. The spread of christianity throughout the 1700, allowed the American Slave to here a Bibical message of equality and deliverence, Some Slave owners were so taken by the great awakening that they taught there Slaves to read the Bible. Now in the early 1700 you see a small unraveling of Slavery in America. The Slave became confused, on one hand he is hearing the preacher preach salvation and equality and deliverence, and then on the other hand he or she is being kept a Slave. What HYPOCRISY. While keeping Black people in Slavery, but at the sametime the white preacher was preaching deliverence.
Teaching a slave to read was aganist the law. But some slave owners taught their slaves to read the bible. To make matters worse for the slave owner, his wife was teaching her house servants to read. The seeds of freedom were sowed in the 1700 America The teaching of christianity to slaves was undermining American slavery.
Well we see three things comming out of the great awakening of the 1740s.
1We see seeds of freedom placed in the slaves head by the white preachers, by preachering salvation, and equality.
2 The birth of the Black Church.
3And the strong leadership role in Church of the Black women.

American Slavery and Christianity Part 1.
This is a very intense subject that i am about to get into. I am not making History, i am only researching and presenting History, as i find it.
Slavery and the Bible
.The following passage shows that slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock.
1.However you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners, who live among you. You may also purchase the children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slave like this. But the children of Israel an their relatives must never be treated this way. Leviticus-25-44-46.
Exodus-21-2-6.
Exodus-21-7-11
.Exodus-21-20-21.
Ephesians-6-5.
Timothy-6-1-2.
Luke-12-47.
From what i can find in History Christians were active perticpants in the slave trade for over 1500 years.
American christians called abolitionists infidels, and accused them of blasphemy for speaking out and writing against slavery.
There is much more to American Slavery an Christianity. In Part 2 i will look deeper into this topics.

The Slave Auction.
This is tough Research for me. To thank of the price my ancestors gave for me. The slave auctions where human beings were bought and solded. It was the slave auction where the term auction block came from.
The slave was placed in shackles and led to and elevated stage for inspection, Prior to the live auction. The buyer would walk the block and physically and inhumanly examine the slave. He would pull the slaves mouth open, to see his or her teeth.. The buyer would pinch the slaves limbs to determine their strength. Then make the slave walk to see his or her mobility.
One story i read tells of a slave auction, near Savanna Georga. Described as a choice lot of 436 men women and children slaves. Before the sale slaves were kept in pens. At the sale Families were broken up an solded apart. I read where one slave women beg the high bidder to bid for her child. For her pleading she was whiped. The slave had no rights that the white slaver was bound to honor.
Well as a Black American researching the slave auction it was hard for me to do. But i had to do it after all this is a post on American Black History.
I will close on this note, the way so many people in America were bought and solded. Its a wonder any Americans Black are White really know who there kin are.

The Dividing Line.
Between 1660-1700 we began to see the split in Americas thanking. In the South there were large plantations that grew cotton and other crops. They needed a large amount of Labor to grow and reap their crops. In the north not as many slaves were needed, because they did not have the large plantations, So you can see the split starting to form between the north and the south. As the years go by the slave issue would grow larger and larger. In my researching slavery in America, I am seeing that the race problem we have today in America were bred in the minds of people way back in the 1600s. Before i move into the 1700s, i want to look at the slave aucton, the treatment of slaves, by slaves owners, family life of slaves, and the many diferent jobs of slaves, in the 1600s in America.

Taking Hold
In 1656 the word slave began appearing in the records of the Virginia colonies. By 1658 ten tons of tobacco had been shipped to England thru Jamestown. Jamestown was fast becomming Boomtown. Because of all the cotton and tobacco that flowed thru her ports to England. The people of jamestown were becomming quite rich. Slavery by 1660 had taken hold in virginia and in maryland. Because of slave labor a agricultural economy prospered really well. A problem for the colonies were the American Indian, who were constantly attacking the colonies The colonies captured and enslaved a large number of these indian, and shipped them to the carolinas, to work in the cotton and tobacco fields. But the indians made poor slaves, because they would runaway, leaving there women and childern behind. The white slaver put all slaves togeather in the slave quarters. With the black slave male outnumbering black and indian females 3-1 soon you had race mixing between the black slave male and the indian female. The white slaver had been mixing with the black slave women ever since she came to America. Now in the carolinas you start to see a new kind of slave bred of three races. As we move thru the 17 century, we start to see the foundation of the american people emerge. As we move from 1502-1865 we wll see that race mixing, is what ties all americans togeather.

Major Players.
In my last post on slavery, 1502-1865. I identified the Major Players in the American slave trade. The white slave ship captain, the white slave trader, the white plantation owner, and the Black Slave Women.Slavery could have never started nor continued , and enhanced without the black slave women. It was upon her back that America grew, and the white slaver became quite rich. The white slaver had in the black slave women the perfect being. She could cook and clean his home, she could work his fields, wet nurse his white babies, be a confidant and servant to his white wife, and also along with the black slave man give the white slaver a lot of black slave babies. And after all of that the white slaver had the black slave women for his sexual pleasure.
Slavery could not have existed without the Black Slave Women. So as you can see America was Built on the Back of the American Black Women.

Sex and the Slave Master.
I have been researching Black American History, and i am finding its hard to separate Black American History, from American History. While the slave ship captain, and the slave trader, and the plantation owner, were busy buying and selling slaves. And i must say making alot of money off of trafficing in Human Misey. The White slave captain, Trader, and owner, were also getting alot of pleasure from having Sex with the black slave women. While the white slave, captain, trader, and slave owner were professing that the black slave were nothing more than animals to be bought and solded at there whims. In the mean time the white slaver was really enjoying sex with the black slave women. You might say the white slaver had the best of all worlds. He had his white wife, his white kids. And then he had the black slave women, for cooking cleaning, woking in the fields, wet nursing his white babies, and then he had her for all the sex he wanted. To all of this, by having sex with the black slave women he was producing more slaves, and getting pleaure at the sametime. And out of this unions alot of white slave women were able to pass themself off as whites and married white men. I have also read where White male slaves passed themself off, and married white women.
Race mixing started in Africa, continued on the slave ship and moved right into the Americas. From the beganning of the the slave trade, the white slaver has always enjoyed sex with the black slave women.
So you see its realley hard to Separate American History, from Black American History. I can only find one America.
