1800s

The next 65 years started a lifetime of change for America, a change thats on going today in America. The  American Revolution was over, the father of America was dead. President George Washington died December 14, 1799. We enter the 19th century with Slavery well entrenched in America, and with the American Government. squarely on the side of the Slave owner. Infact  President George Washington had sign the fugitive Slave act, in his second term. As i said the 1800s brought a lasting change to America. Well here we go.

The first Block Buster Change came in the 1800s was the Louisiana Purchase. The Louisiana Purchase Treaty April 30, 1803. The Louisiana Purchase was big it encompssed all or part of 15 states and two Canadian Provinces. And was also a vital moment in the Presidency of Thomas Jefferson . At the time alot of people were questiioning wheather his Presidency was Constitutional.

Jefferson decided to allow Slavery in  the acquired Territory. Which laid the foundation for the crisis of the Union a half century later.  Thomas Jefferson its kind of strange  that he Thomas Jefferson should be such and important person in laying the ground work for ending Slavery. What a fitting triburte to Miss Sallly Henning.

Well we are just getting started with the 1800s we are on the road to ending Slavery in America. It took 65 years, but thing are Moving.

I give honor love and respect to the American Black Women.
