We bagan 1860 with the majority of White America directly are indirectly profiting from Slavery. Infact the American Government was making over a 194 Million a year off of Slavery. We began the year with White America totally divided on the issue of Slavery. Pro Slavers against anti Slavery groups. Southern Politicians were in control of the American Government from the very beginning. Infact the majority of the framers of of the US Constitution were Slave owners. So we can imaged that at the beganing of 1860 the Slave owners were quite alarmed.
Slavery started unraveling after the American Revolution, Northern States freeded there Slaves. It took America from the 1770s up to 1865 to crack under the weight of Slavery.

American Black History.
I started this Blog in Febrary 2011 out of frustration the lack of Knowledge that my people had about there own History.I was frustrated by the fact that American Black History was put into 28 days. I ask myself how could you put 4 to 500 years of American Black History into a 28 day month. What a put down to the millions of Black Slave Men and women who gave there lives being shiped to America, and who built America. In 2013 we now settle for only 28 days of speaking about Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Yes Dr King was a great man, but before him there was Black American History from 1501-2013. I started at 1501-1865. We have allowed others in America to define us, and have not define ourselfs.
I have created other blogs that are important to me, and I hope also to you.

4 Black women of History.
This is the last Black Women of American History in this series that I will write on.
Miss Elizabeth Hobbs Keckley.
1818-1907.
Miss Keckley a former Slave who became a successful seamstress, civl activist, and author. From 1861 on she was the dressmaker for the most powerful women of the day in Washington DC. She was best known as the personal confidante of Mary Todd Lincoln. Miss Keckley bought her freedom for 1200 dollars in ST. Louis in 1858. She move to Washigton in 1860 and created an independent business. There is so much to write about this Great Lady. However I would ask you to research and learn as much about her as you can.
These 4 Black Slave Women in there own way struck a Major Blow for Freedom in America.
